Jose is the winning ticket – Bus Operator makes all the difference

 

Jose recently was awarded the ‘Delivering for Our Customers’ Abellio Achievement Award for his outstanding customer service. Keep reading to find out more about his story.



Jose Pimento originally from Portugal, is a long serving Bus Operator at our London Bus Battersea Depot and Relief Driver Support Supervisor. Facing many challenges daily, Jose works hard to keep his route performing well.

Jose is always known to go above and beyond to provide excellent customer service and enjoys helping people. For example, after a call out about a missing child in the west end of London, he spotted the child and stayed with her, keeping her safe until the police and her parents arrived.

We have all been there; running late for the bus to make it to the stop to realise you’ve left your money and cards behind. When a customer realised she had done exactly that, Jose kindly paid for her ticket, and instead of giving her his details to pay him back, he asked to make a donation to his fundraising case.

“Thank you to my friendly bus driver that paid my fare”, the customer put on his fundraising page.

This is not the first customer Jose has helped over the last decade, as he continues to help customers as best he can.

“If I had to sum up Jose in one word it would be ‘passionate’. He is hugely passionate about everything he does – whether that’s being the best driver he can be, mentoring new drivers at his depot or putting everything into his serious running hobby.”

Jose has continued to work throughout the coronavirus pandemic and continues to keep customers safe on the move.

“Jose Pimento, is a bus driver who goes beyond just driving a bus. His friendly and caring nature makes everyone feel like they live in a small community where everyone knows and respects each other.” Commented one customer.
